Pop Music & What It Is

Pop music is a music genre abbreviated from the word popular, which is aimed at a commercial mainstream audience often orientated aroung a youth market. Pop music is an adaption and mixture of a multitude of different genres with sentimental ballads, vocal harmonies from gospel and soul music, instrumentation from jazz and rock music, orchestration from classical music, tempo from dance music, backing from electronic music and more recently rap verses from hip-hop.
