Thriller uses effective elements such as the use of mise-en-scene like the props used such as grave stones, battered costumes to give the spooky horror element as well as to add to realism making it scarier to the audience. To further add to the spooky horror feel there is use smoke/steam which is conventional of a horror film, furthermore there in use of relationship between sound and image were when Michael Jackson uses dialogue to say “you hear the door slam”, then non-digetic sound effect is used to scare the audience further enforcing the horror element throughout the video.
